Information You Send
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Our own servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, the message and details you choose to include are used to answer it.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Those logs are reviewed in aggregate for site health and broad page-use patterns. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How the Data Is Used
The purposes are limited to running the pages, diagnosing faults, measuring traffic, and improving the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual user profiles.
External Portals and Links
Links lead to Connecticut and Simsbury records portals, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. Once you leave these pages, the destination’s privacy policy controls what you submit there. Sponsored results are supplied by a separate provider.
Who May Receive It
Hosting and technical service providers may process the ordinary logs described above. Analytics or advertising partners may receive limited automatic data where those tools are used. Disclosure may also occur when valid legal process requires it.
Security and Retention
The connection is encrypted, and logs are kept only for as long as the purposes above require. Because there are no site accounts, this service does not hold a password or user profile for you.
People Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, use the Contact page so it can be reviewed for deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Connecticut’s Data Privacy Act, CGS chapter 743jj, may provide rights that depend on the data and the person making the request. Because this service stores very little, a request generally means checking the contact mailbox and available server logs, then removing what is within our control. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by Connecticut or Simsbury offices remain under the custodian’s control, so correction or removal requests for those records must go to that office.
Policy Changes
When this policy changes, the new wording will be posted here. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
